I have this friendnamed Eva-Lotta visting all the way from Germany! She is 14 just like me and super fun and funny. How did I meet a girl from Germany you might ask? Well, her grandfather and my grandfather went to elementray school together in Germany and they have kept in touch all these years! Isn’t that cool?! Eva’s older sister came out to visit quite a few years ago and now that Eva is old enough she came out here to explore America! It’s been such a blast having her around. She does the craziest sport that I don’t even know how it is possible! She stands on horses and does tricks on them while they are trotting around! I know if I tried to stand on a horse it would not be a pretty sight! She is also one of the most efficent girls I know. She has come down to the past couple contests of mine and she helps me with my wetsuits, jerseys, and keeping myself organized. I’m so glad she is here with us and maybe one day I can go visit her in Germany and she can be the one showing me around and teaching me to stand on horses! :D
Lucy Bleu isn’t just a sweet girl, but she is a very talented web designer. She started this website about girls on boards. I got to know her through a skype interview that she did on me and had a great time talking to her. Check out the interview and the rest of her website! Who knows? This website could turn into the leading magazine one day!!
On June 15th, my friend Tory Gilkerson, my mom, and I were headed off to Hawaii! It wasn’t just a fun vacation, but Tory and I were there on a mission to do well in the Roxy ASP pro event at Queens. It also wasn’t a normal day to get ready and pack for Hawaii. Tory and I were busy at the U.S. Championships working hard to get good results. The hard work paid of with Tory getting a win in the 18+ division and I getting 3rd in the under 18 division. With there being such hard competition in the divisions and us doing well, we were feeling good going to Hawaii. Tory ended up making it to the quarter-finals and I made it to the semi-finals. I was the only girl from North America left in the semis so I am now first in the ratings for girls ASP North America! Don’t worry though, we also got time to walk around, shop, have some girl time, and enjoy Hawaii! One of the highlights of the trip was making a trip up to the north shore and surfing Chun’s Reef. It was definitely the funnest surf session of the trip. Going to Hawaii was such a great experience and we all had a lot of fun together!! It was also a great result for my first contest in Hawaii and not having my coach/my dad to help me with strategy before heats, which makes me excited! Can’t wait to go on another trip with Tory one day, too! People were always asking if we were sisters, on lady even asked if we were twins (I guess she couldn’t see our age difference, shes 19 and im 14) but we ended up just saying we were sisters and my mom was our mom. We had a lot of fun times, lots of laughter, and great surf sessions. Definitely a trip to remember! :D
Today, my friend Teresa and I got up early in the morning to get a session in up at south side of Huntington beach pier. The crowd was nice and the waves were pumping! I’m feeling really excited for the U.S. championships there this weekend. I’m hoping the waves are good for the contest and I can’t wait to surf against all the girls!
